Florit Brooke has been exclusively retained by Horizon Nuclear Power in its search for a further in-house legal counsel to join its expanding legal team based in Gloucester.
Horizon is a UK energy company developing a new generation of nuclear power stations and is a wholly owned subsidiary of Hitachi Ltd.
Horizon plans to provide at least 5,400MW of new power station capacity to the UK and the company’s projects will create up to 850 permanent jobs at its sites at Wylfa and Oldbury with a construction workforce of between 8,000-10,000 during peak periods.
The result will be to boost the UK’s low carbon energy supplies with enough power for around 10 million homes.
The new role which has been created is for a qualified solicitor or barrister to report to the General Counsel and Company Secretary and to support other members of the legal team in providing proactive legal advice on issues affecting the business and its development sites, including corporate and commercial, finance, construction, regulatory compliance, planning and the environment, litigation, insurance, employment, IP and competition law.
