Florit Brooke has recently won two new clients, with a focus on the healthcare sector.
This week, the in-house team agreed terms for an exclusively retained project to hire a corporate lawyer to become Head of Legal and Company Secretary for Assura Group, the highly successful Warrington based property Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT) listed on the London Stock Exchange.
Assura is one of the leading healthcare property investment and development companies in the UK, and the company partners with GPs to deliver high quality patient care in the community by offering innovative property solutions.
Interviews will commence in January, for the opportunity which requires at least 6 years PQE in Corporate M&A and PLC work, and the appointee will play an integral part in the company’s strategic senior leadership team.
Although unconnected, this comes almost immediately on the back of the Leeds and Manchester legal recruitment consultancy having also filled another senior role in Yorkshire for a UK Legal Counsel with the UK subsidiary of Maximus Inc a NYSE listed company with a growing presence in the UK in the field of public sector outsourcing.
At the end of October, Maximus UK was chosen as the new provider to manage the DWP’s Health and Disability Assessment Service (HDAS), to replace an outgoing provider, and has committed to processing over one million assessments each year and clearing a large backlog of cases. The Legal Counsel will play a key role in the success of this new contract.
Head of in-house legal recruitment, and Partner, Miguel Florit commented:
“These senior roles, with new clients mark significant steps forward in our continued growth as a successful in-house legal recruitment business in the UK. Since both were the result of referrals from our contacts in top UK commercial law firms, it is a genuine testament to the level of trust we engender when recruiting for law firms, since there is no finer accolade than being referred to their own clients .
Hiring first in-house legal counsel is something we are particularly experienced at, and we look forward to doing more of this work in 2015, and helping commercial lawyers to seek a new direction.”
